How much are you paying for your invisaling?
Just a Peek into My Mind Answered:
The average cost is 5k to 6k (without insurance) which less than Metal Braces from what I remember, it could be about the same price as Metal Braces now. I got a discount because of where my parent works so Im only paying half that out of pocket. They also offer payment plans. I had to give 1500 upfront and the rest I pay 200-300 every month. Thats what works for me. You can discuss something different with your provider. Invisalign is a lot more flexible in all aspects from the actual treatment to the payment plan.
I hope that helps : )
Invisalign vs Metal braces (personal experience)
BACKGROUND: I have recently started my Invisalign braces treatment. I have to say Im VERY thankful that I was able to have this treatment instead of continuing my Metal Braces treatment from when I was a little younger. Just an FYI I didnt have a serious case where I needed Braces for a ridiculously long time. I stopped my metal braces treatment before it was finished. Later, I got them taken off and I restarted my teeth straightening with Invisalign instead. So with that little background now you can understand how I know the pros and cons of both treatments and I can answer any questions you have about Invisalign or Metal Braces. Now I will give the pros and cons of both treatments based off my personal experiences.
Metal Braces:
*Pros: Can get your Teeth Straight in about 1-2years for average cases. Average meaning you have quite a few spaces and maybe one or two twisted teeth. Nothing as serious as crowded teeth or under/overbites which I assume would take longer.
-You can eat and drink WHEN EVER YOU WANT. As long as its nothing hard to chew I.E. Jolly Rancher Hard Candy
*Cons: They are very noticeable to other people. You may be self-conscious about speaking publicly or face to face with people at work or school. For example worrying about food being suck in your braces.
- There is a lot of pressure when you get them tighten. Depending on your tolerance for pain you may need medication for the pain or something like a numbing spray for the gums.
-You might have a wire poking you in the cheek and/or brackets scraping the inner of your lips.
- you have appointments every 2 weeks for re-tightening
- its harder to brush and floss thoroughly
Invisalign:
Pros: Nobody will notice them at first glance. They would have to be directly in your face looking at your mouth to notice them.
- Better Oral Hygiene (you can brush and floss thoroughly)
- Fewer Appointments you have to keep up with ( the doctor will give you a few of your trays to change on specific dates and you will make an appointment when you start your last tray.)
Cons: You CANNOT eat or drink while they are in your mouth. You can drink water but Other drinks are not recommended because the sugar will get trapped in your teeth a long period of time while wearing your trays and could cause cavities.
- You have to eat on a schedule. Based on your access to a place to brush and floss your teeth before putting your trays back in your mouth after eating.
- You HAVE TO take your time pulling them out your mouth because they are fragile.
Extra Info: You have to soak your Invisalign trays in whatever recommended by your doctor to keep them clean. I was told to soak them in Hydrogen Peroxide in a old mug or container at least once or twice a week. If you brush and floss 3 times a day like I do you won’t have a hard time cleaning your trays, they will be fine just soaking and rinsing them out with warm water.
If you have any questions about anything feel free to ask : )
